Keyboardist, Composer, Arranger
Keiko Komaki was born and raised in Japan, where she began learning classical piano from her aunt at the age of five. After graduating from Kunitachi College of Music, her passion blossomed for jazz, funk, and the vibrant sounds of New Orleans. In 2006, she followed her heart to New Orleans to fully embrace and study its rich musical heritage.
Since then, Keiko has played with many of New Orleans’ beloved musicians, including Marva Wright, Benny Turner, Vasti Jackson, George Porter Jr, and Marc Stone, and many more. Currently, she is a keyboard player for the Playing for Change Band, the Marc Stone Band. Additionally, she has formed her own band, the Keiko Komaki, June Yamagishi, and Donald MaGee Trio.
